Brazil holds the largest economy in South America and one of the largest in the world, with a GDP of $2.28 trillion (current US dollars) and 2.3 percent growth in 2025. The economy rests on a diversified base, large-scale agriculture (soy, beef, coffee, sugar), significant manufacturing and industrial output, and a growing services sector.

As a founding member of Mercosur, Brazil anchors regional trade integration across South America, while maintaining major trade relationships with China, the United States, and the European Union. Its agricultural export sector in particular has made it one of the world's leading suppliers of soybeans, beef, and sugar.
