One Reference. Every Country. No Shortcuts
AmericasPedia exists to build one thing: a complete, source-cited reference for every country in the Western Hemisphere, down to the cities and boroughs that make them up.
We are mapping the Americas in layers. Regions first, then countries, then cities and boroughs. Today, all four regions and all 35 countries are live, each with a real infobox of core facts. Four full topic areas, history, politics and governance, economy and trade, and culture and society, are complete for every one of those 35 countries, nearly 140 articles in total.
The next layer is cities and boroughs. We are starting with major cities, the ones we can find solid, verifiable information on, rather than committing upfront to covering every city and borough in all 35 countries. That scope will grow deliberately over time.
Our guiding principle is depth over sprawl. We do not publish a page just to have it exist. Every layer we add has to link back into real, standing content and give a visitor somewhere further to go. A country page that dead-ends, or a topic with no articles behind it, works against the reason AmericasPedia exists, so we would rather leave a layer unbuilt than ship it half finished.
That is also why some sections of the site are still labeled as in progress. We would rather tell you a page is coming than pad it with filler.
