Belize is culturally and ethnically the most diverse country in Central America, home to Mestizo, Creole, Maya, Garifuna, and other communities. English is the official language, a legacy of British colonization, though Spanish, Belizean Kriol, and Garifuna are also widely spoken, reflecting the country's multicultural heritage.

The Garifuna people, descendants of West African and Indigenous Caribbean ancestry, maintain a distinct language, music, and drumming traditions recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Belizean cuisine blends Caribbean, Mexican, and Central American influences, featuring dishes such as rice and beans with stewed chicken. Football and basketball are popular sports, and the country's cultural calendar includes Garifuna Settlement Day and September Celebrations marking independence.
